Greetings! My name is Denali Pearce-Alt. I am the vocal music director at West Platte High School in Weston, Missouri and am in my 22nd year as a music educator in Missouri and my 20th with the West Platte School District. My responsibilities include directing the high school and junior high choirs, directing the musical, and serving as flag instructor. I received my undergraduate degree in Music Education from Missouri State University in 2002, my master’s degree in music education from Boston University in 2011, and my specialist degree in music education from Boston University in 2021. I am also eMINTS certified. In 2007, while singing with the Kansas City Chorale, I was nominated for a Grammy award for the album Sacred Choral works of Josef Rheinberger and was able to attend the Grammy awards that year.
In the little spare time I have, I enjoy singing, canning, baking, and binge-watching reality competition TV. I live in Liberty, MO with my husband, Brian, our sons, Thomas and Murphy, and our three dog-children, Holly, Ivy, and Salvy. This year we have invited Hannah, a foreign exchange student from Spain, into our family.
Through West Platte, I have had the opportunity to be trained in eMINTs and completed the program in May, 2015. eMINTS professional development uses interactive group sessions and in-classroom coaching/mentoring to help teachers integrate technology into their teaching using an instructional model that:
